Day 1: Monday — Drive to Mendocino County- Hike Hendy Woods

This morning we spend some time on introductions and ice-breaker games to bring us together as a group. Then we'll jump into the vans and head up to beautiful Anderson Valley in Mendocino County. Our first stop will be the ancient grove of Redwoods know as Hendy Woods, which is in the heart of Anderson Valley. We'll have lunch here, walk the trails and learn the fascinating ecology of the redwood forest. After our short hike, we'll head on to Camp Navarro, our home in the redwoods for the next 4 nights. There, we'll learn the basics of tent set up, cook a yummy dinner outdoors and of course, roast s'mores!

Day 2: Tuesday — Tide pooling- MacKerricher State Park & Pt. Cabrillo Lighthouse

Today, at MacKerricher State Park just north of the town of Mendocino, we'll explore the lush tide pools. The tide pools in Mendocino teem with life and we'll get to touch kelp gardens, giant green anemone, orange sea cucumbers, red bat stars, purple shore crabs, sculpin and much more.

Our next stop will be a climb to the top of the Pt. Cabrillo Lighthouse. We'll enjoy spectacular ocean views, a lesson on how the lighthouse lens works, as well as the long and storied history of this beautiful landmark.

Day 3: Wednesday — Camp Navarro - Hiking, Arts & Crafts, Soccer, Swimming, Games & Initiatives

After a scrumptious breakfast, we sign up for a fun day of camp activities. Camp Navarro offers many fun and educational activities. Campers will get a chance to choose from activities like archery, nature hikes/creek exploration, capture the flag, arts and crafts, and team-building games and initiatives.

Lessons: Team building, arts & crafts, swimming, soccer, native plants

Day 4: Thursday — Mendocino Headlands Hike & Beach Exploration

Today we'll hike along the spectacular Mendocino Coast in the Mendocino Headlands. It is one of the most scenic hikes along the Mendocino coast. If there's time, we'll stop into the quaint village of Mendocino, check out the visitor's center and maybe even get ice cream!

After our hike, we'll head back to Camp Navarro for a fun final evening BBQ and celebration.

We spend another night at Camp Navarro stargazing and telling stories around the campfire.

Lesson: Natural History of the Mendocino Coast

Day 5: Friday — Closing activities & Drive back to San Francisco

This morning we'll get a chance to take part in some more camp games and closing activities. After lunch, we'll pack up camp, head back to the Bay area and say goodbye to our new friends.
